Presentation

An apartment, available for you to rent, is available in south Spain, about halfway between Marbella and Malaga.  It is situated in an apartment building  - Los Altos – located within the La Cala Golf Resort, about 7 km inland from La Cala de Mijas, Mijas Costa.  La Cala Resort is a residential and recreational estate of about 500 hectares (1,000 acres) situated on the famous Costa del Sol between the Sierra de Mijas Natural Park and the Mediterranean.   The apartment is finished to a very high standard and tastefully furnished.

The apartment building is positioned in a gated area with a communal pool.  The building within which it is situated is shown above: the large building at top right.

Malaga Airport is about 30 minutes drive from the apartment; the main coast road and beach are some 10 minutes away.  A car is essential.

The Apartment

The two bedroom apartment  at Los Altos is within the 5 star La Cala Golf Resort. The resort is  situated 7 km from La Cala de Mijas  which is on the south coast of Spain roughly halfway between Malaga and Marbella.

The apartment consists of a spacious hall,  a large sitting room /  dining room, 2 bedrooms accommodating 4 people, one with en suite bathroom and WC, a separate shower room with WC, kitchen, and 2 terraces, one  on each side of the apartment.  There is also a “utility” terrace outside the kitchen.

The apartment, with its outstanding views over the three La Cala golf courses, is situated on the top floor of an apartment building.  Also visible are  the Santana golf course, hillsides and villages and, in the nearer distance the Mediterranean, and in the far distance the Sierra Nevada, snow covered in winter and spring.  A large garage is in the basement of the apartment building where you have access to a parking spot.

Well maintained gardens surround the apartment building and the large communal “infinity” swimming pool is close by within the apartment gardens where sun loungers, parasols and changing rooms are provided.

Pets are not invited.

The apartment is air conditioned and luxurious with 2 bedrooms and 2 balconies.  Doors lead onto both the balconies.

You can relax and enjoy the peaceful and panoramic views of La Cala Golf Resort, watch the players way below, and see as far as the coast and Fuengirola.

The back balcony overlooks the America Golf Course from which you can watch the players rather more closely.  One of the well renowned David Leadbetter Golf Academies is located here and a grass driving range is open to all.

This is a gated development  with underground parking and lift access to the front door of the apartment. A car is essential.

La Cala Golf Resort  is a quiet location but within a 10 minute drive to the local  town of La Cala de Mijas, and more lively town of Fuengirola.  There are several golf courses a short drive away in addition to the three courses at La Cala Golf Resort.

The Mediterranean Sea and a beach at La Cala de Mijas is about 10 minutes from the apartment .

Hotel La Cala golf with the Caracala spa  offering a variety of treatments for women and men;

Golf tuition at the Leadbetter Golf Academy;

Fuengirola town boasts a wide variety of shops, beach and promenade, restaurants, entertainment;

Aqua parks, go-karting, a zoo, Selwo wildlife park;

Mijas Pueblo village and other inland “white” villages..

More distant attractions are:

Marbella (33 km) and Puerto Banus (40 km), and Malaga (48 km);

Gibraltar (110 km);

Granada (170 km) and its Alhambra Palace;

Seville (260 km) and its attractive old town with La Giralda Tower and cathedral;

Cadiz (220 km) on its peninsula also with attractive narrow streets;

Cordoba (200 km) with its Mezquita (Moorish “church”);

Availability

The apartment is available as shown below.  

Guests leave before 1000 hrs on the day of departure and the property is available from 1600 hrs the same day for new arrivals.  Dates shown in orange are under negotiation; all other dates are available.

Price / week in 2012:

£550  July, August  

Part weeks are accepted if the booking is for more than one week and are charged on a pro-rata basis.

Contact and Booking

To secure a firm booking a deposit of GBP250 / E300 is required. This is refundable provided there have been no breakages, damage or losses beyond normal fair wear and tear, and if the booking is not cancelled. Payment in full will be required not less than 8 weeks prior to your arrival date. If there is a failure to pay, or in the event of cancellation after this payment is made, there will be no refund. Holiday / travel insurance, which may cover such an eventuality, is strongly recommended.

Malaga Airport is the nearest international airport.  Flights from a variety of UK destinations and elsewhere in Europe arrive at Malaga.

A car is essential.  There are many car hire firms at the airport and one in La Cala de Mijas.
