Our visitors had these comments, made in our "Livre d’or":

We've had a really great time at Cayssac - lots of good food, reading, sleep and laughter!  The house is a pleasure to stay in.

9 August, 2008

An excellent fortnight - the house was excellent, the pool was good......hope to be back soon.

18 September, 2007

Enjoyed our visit to Cayssac very much indeed. The days have just flown by!  This is an ideal, relaxing, peaceful holiday venue, to unwind.  The house, very comfortable, suited our needs perfectly.

18 August, 2007

Lovely pool, kids swam every day.  Lots of wildlife, bats buzzards, geckos, woodpeckers.  Beautiful local walks.  Gouffre de Padirac spectacular, kids enjoyed it as well!  Pretty local villages Autoire, Loubressac.  Comfy beds.....

2 June, 2007

It had a lovely garden and a lovely swimming pool.  I enjoyed the horse riding at Padirac and the caves at Goffre Padirac.  Thanks for a fantastic holiday.

30 September, 2006

A wonderfully peaceful setting and stay.  Rain and misty at start but last 3-4 days beautiful.  A very interesting area geologically, gastronomically and oneologically.  Highlights include Peche - Merle, Gouffre de Padirac and dining at Autoire during a thunderstorm....

Thank you again for your warm welcome and hospitality.  Again we enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of Cayssac.

29 July, 2006

A very peaceful and relaxing week.  Just what we needed.  Perfect setting, perfect accommodation and a wonderful pool.  The local countryside is so varied and well worth exploring.  Gouffre de Padirac being the high point.

A fabulous family holiday. The gîte is the perfect place to relax and unwind and the pool, ideal in this very hot weather.

We've enjoyed driving around this region and have seen stunning scenery at every turn. We've spent some time in "Les plus beaux villages de France" and particularly enjoyed St Céré, Autoire, Loubressac and a walking tour of Figeac. Rocamadour was spectacular as was St Cirq Lapopie (our personal favourite). We've visited the caves at both Padirac and Peche - Merle and loved them both. Also managed to squeeze in a visit to Musée en plain air near Sauliac - sur - Célé (very interesting old farm museum). We've enjoyed the gîte, the countryside, the people, good food and good wine. Many thanks!

Special family holiday which exceeded all expectations! The house is spacious and comfortable, set in lovely well cared for surroundings, and the pool is the icing on the cake.

We had a great time visiting several "Villages de France", all of which are worth seeing.

Our hosts were helpful and charming - we'll be back!

1 June, 2006

Had another enjoyable stay - home from home! Visited Périgueux (beautiful city), Collonges-la-Rouge (village of red sandstone - stunning!). Figeac - good shopping / food, as well as the local attractions. This is our third holiday at Cayssac and there is still more to see. Thank you for all your help and hospitality.

5 September, 2005

Yet another another wonderful holiday here in Cayssac. Visited many of the places we did in May as well as the walled city of Domme - well worth the visit. Also enjoyed boat trips at Cahors and La Roque Gageac - very reasonable. We had 2 excellent meals at 2 of the recommended restaurants - Le Puymule, St Céré and Auberge de la Fontaine, Autoire.

We had a very relaxing holiday in magnificent surroundings and look forward to to seeing you next year - thank you!

27 August, 2005

Go to the caves at Pechemerle - a once in a lifetime experience! Caves at Padirac good for children. Rocamadour - very "touristy" but good - try and go when quiet. Autoire - stunning - nice walk. Wonderful wildlife - look out for the red squirrels and beautiful butterflies.

20 August, 2005

Very enjoyable time, lovely gîte and pool. Autoire well worth a visit. Market at Bretonneux very good. Caves at Padirac were breathtaking - a must! Get there before 10am otherwise be prepared to queue. Rocamadour town on the cliff was stunning however avoid Grottes des Merveilles - dreadful, complete waste of money, very, very disappointing. Dinosaur park not bad for the children - 1/2 days entertainment. We would definitely return to this part of France.

Stunning views everywhere ......

13 August, 2005

Once again a wonderful holiday in a stunning location. We have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We even made it down to the Cité de l'Espace in Toulouse, and the castle at Carcassonne, as well as all the magnificent local attractions. A fantastic fortnight.

30 July, 2005

We've had a thoroughly enjoyable week both in the house and in the region. The pool is a winner with the kids! Hope to return sometime.

22 July, 2005

Cayssac and the Dordogne were all we hoped for.

Ideal setting for family of all ages. We loved the pool and the rural landscape - helped everyone to unwind.

We particularly enjoyed dinner at "La Terrasse" in La Capelle Marival. Their trout was almost as good as the two you collected for us!

Clear high spots in the Lot region were the town of Autoire - beautiful; the steam train at Martel - particularly for "little" train spotters; the caves at Gouffres de Padirac - fascinating and cool!; and of course the awesome Rocamadour.

We sampled many local delicacies and particularly enjoyed the Cahors rosé.

For most of our party this was the first visit to the Dordogne and it certainly won't be the last.

Perfect in every way – accommodation, pool, even the weather. Thank you for your warm welcome and friendliness. God willing and a fair wind – we will be back!

26 June, 2005

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the lovely gîte and have made full use of the wonderful pool. There is much to explore in the area and we have fought the heat to investigate Sarlat, Autoire, Loubressac, Carennac and other villages which we can recommend.

11 June, 2005

Excellent accommodation and furniture. Superb landscape; plenty to do and see. Loved it.

3 June, 2005

Excellent accommodation and furniture. We visited Sarlat, La Roque Gageac (beautiful), Bretoneux, Toulouse, the Gouffre de Padirac, Autoire, Cahors and Rocamadour (well worth a visit at dusk). Wasn’t disappointed with any of them; the scenery is absolutely wonderful.

Thank you for an excellent holiday in an ideal setting; we will certainly be visiting this area again very soon.
